Supposed To Be Sleeping

with 3 comments

Levi and Conrad play peek-a-boo when they are supposed to be taking naps. A few nights ago I finished tucking Levi in and this is what I saw when I looked up. Isn’t he cute!

Conrad Update

with 8 comments

Conrad will be 9 months tomorrow. He has really started to develop a personality already. Conrad is not about to let Levi push him around, if Levi takes something from him he breaks out his mad cry. Conrad loves to give kisses by grabbing your face pulling you in for a big slobber. He has started dancing on occasion by bouncing up and down when he is sitting up. When he’s happy he sit with his arms out twirling his hands and feet. He finally will stand sometimes and when on his stomach (if he feels like it) he will try to move. He is still my cuddle bug and loves to snuggle in to my shoulder. He says da da da and laughs the hardest when Levi plays with him. He is very ticklish and loves to be held up side down or more likely just enjoys physical play. He is also teething like crazy right now. (Tylenol to the rescue) I thank God every day for bringing this little guy into our family.

Without My Better Half

with 4 comments

Nate has been air bound for 2hrs30min. So far so good around here, I did most of my grieving yesterday. I brook down in tears at the realization that I wouldn’t be doing Nates laundry for 2 weeks. They should of been tears of happiness but the fact is I will miss those little reminders of his presence in our home. Anyway time to suck it up until he gets home. I talked to him shortly after he boarded the airplane. He got bumped up to business class which is cool and we get frequent flier miles for this trip even though we don’t have to pay for the tickets. I pray he has a safe and adventurous trip!

Levi is 2 1/4

with 11 comments

Levi is officially a toddler. He has been up to so much since I last wrote about him. His speech is continually improving. Within the last month he has picked up on how to use I, me, you, etc.. It amazes me that you don’t have to teach a kid these language development skills. He also finally calls me mom or mommy. Nate was watching a baseball game and he said dang, so for the rest of the evening Levi kept saying “dang mom”. Its little stuff like this that keeps me laughing through the day. We were also going to go play with Haley and Tanner so Levi’s saying was “I want to go see Tanny Baby”. He loves his cousins especially Riley and likes to talk about swimming and going to the beach with them. His imagination is growing as well having pretend conversations while playing. He can also have a coherent phone conversion now instead of just smiling huge. Levi loves to sing but when I catch him he gets embarrassed and won’t do it any more. Nate was watching a Bob Dylan concert the other day and when Bob played the harmonica Levi busted out his and started playing. We took him to see the movie Cars and he loved it. Almost everyday he tells me he wants to see it again. At home his favorite movie is Veggie Tales “Joan and the Water” (Jonah and the Whale) which I will elaborate on in another post. Baseball is his sport of choice. He pays attention much more closely than I ever thought. The reason I know this is because when he throws the ball he picks up his leg like the pitchers do and when he bats he takes a little step as well. It is really cute. I tried to get pictures but they were all blurry, I will try again soon. Levi is developing a sense of brotherly love as well. He is still in the parallel play stage but he will bring Conrad a toy and a toy for himself and sit down next to him and play. I can’t explain how that little act brings such joy to me. At night we usually pray with the boys before bed so Levi always makes sure that I don’t forget to pray for Conrad and occasionally he will come to Conrads crib with me and put his hand on him when we pray. O’yeah one last thing that I treasure is when he says to Nate “I want to hold mama”. How can a mom deny that.

If you’ve been wondering why Kristen hasn’t posted anything in a while it’s because all she ever does on the computer is play poker.

Death Valley Gallery

I didn’t do a good job taking pictures on this trip. Pretty much the only pictures are from the sand dunes and I, for the most part, only took goofy ones. Sorry and try to enjoy.

Way To Go Nate!

with 11 comments

Nate has lost enough weight that even Levi is noticing. Yesterday at the store we walked down the paper towel aisle and when Levi saw the Brawny man he said “Daddy”. I laughed and new Nate would be proud.

Depressed

with 14 comments

I always feel depressed the day after a long weekend. I feel lonely and unmotivated to do anything. Today I haven’t brushed my hair yet and it took me all day just to do 30 minutes of house work. I just miss Nate. Sometimes I wish we live during a simpler time were we work as a family, farming or something. I,m sure its harder than I can imagine but at least we would be together.
