Lasting Impressions From a Terrorist War

with 48 comments

A victim of the last terrorist war fought in Lebanon tells of her experience with the nation she was taught to hate.

I became friends with the families of the wounded Israeli soldiers, one in particular, Rina, whose only child was wounded in his eyes. One day, I was visiting with her and the Israeli army band came to play national songs to lift the spirits of the wounded soldiers. As they surrounded his bed playing a song about Jerusalem, Rina and I started crying. I felt out of place and started walking out of the room, and this mother held my hand and pulled me back in without even looking at me. She held me, crying, and said, “It is not your fault.” We just stood there, crying, holding each other’s hands.

What a contrast between her, a mother looking at her deformed, 19-year-old only child and still able to love me, the enemy, and a Muslim mother who sends her son to blow himself up to smithereens just to kill a few Jews or Christians.

The difference between the Arabic world and Israel is a difference in values and character. It’s barbarism versus civilization. It’s democracy versus dictatorship. It’s goodness versus evil.

Western Media and Terrorist Propaganda

with one comment

Since I’m pretty sure nobody that reads my blog keeps track of little green footballs I’m going to link to a list of pretty chilling posts from the past week that show how western media is working out to be an exclellent tool for Islamic terrorist propoganda:

Why do they hate?

with 10 comments

I understand why they hate the US. Actually, I understand but disagree with the argument some make about how the US is culpable for the animosity the Islamic extremists have for her, but Canada too? A plan to behead the prime minister? I’m not an expert on Canadian history or Canadian foreign policy, but I think it may be time to rethink the typical “why do they hate us?” argument.

“Valhalla, I am coming”

with 3 comments

The song of the month comes from that mouthpiece of Satan from yesteryear, Led Zeppelin. Immigrant Song shot up my song ranking chart after an anonymous source on capital hill reported several complaints from other senators that Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts was repeatedly blaring the song in the hallways before debates on the recently passed immigration bill. Kennedy supposedly responded to complaints by swinging a hammer and screaming, “Valhalla, I am coming,” and then pointing at an aid and finishing, “I am your overlord!”

The War on Terror and Embry-Riddle

with 2 comments

I found out today that a fellow alumnus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University being held at the military prison at Guantanamo Bay has refused to fight charges of terrorism. He evidently graduated with an electrical engineering degree in 2000 and made his way to Pakistan where he built roadside bombs for use against US forces in Afghanistan. There definitely was a decent sized Muslim population at Embry-Riddle while I was there, and I remember tension being a bit raised after the 2001 terrorist attacks. As a matter of fact, my freshmen roommate who I unfortunately havn’t kept in touch with was a Muslim from India by way of Texas, and I also had a Muslim lab partner in an introduction to digital computers course who seemed a little fanatical and forced me to do, what I then considered a terrorist act, pretty close to all the work for every single lab assignment.

Now if I could find those darn transcripts from the military tribunals that were released a few months back I could dig around for some more details. Anybody have a link?

Regardless

without comments

When we visited Prescott we found out that the missionaries we helped out in Romania have plans to go to Iraq long term. It is exciting to see the door open for the spreading of the Gospel in Iraq.

Therefore be ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through you on Christs behalf, be reconciled to God.

The Illegitimate UN

with 16 comments

For me one of the best arguments against the legitimacy of the UN is the unfair way its commissions have singled out Israel over the years and last Friday they did it again.
