Third Day Promotes New Song
Sign up and download. I know I’m being a jerk and their intentions are probably honorable but just donate the 50,000 bucks, scallywags. Let the broken rebuild and the dead rest!

I have been thinking about people or corporations who pledge to match what other’s give, up to a certain point. Maybe they are trying to motivate others to give, but why not just give your share whether or not the others do? Especially since usually the ones doing this can spare the money easily.
But speaking about the song, has anyone heard it? The lyrics look good. Hopefully, these guys have donated something besides the $50,000. I think they can manage to scrape something together.

But if they did that, they wouldn’t be able to capitalize on the situation!

I’m not saying third day specifically is doing this necessarily, just most corporate matching funds type plans.

The matching funds thing doesn’t seem so bad to me for the reason you pointed out. What rubs me the wrong way are things like what Third Day is doing which are using a tragedy to promote their stuff. Each download makes us pay one dollar. Or 10% percent of my album sails will go to charity or whatever. Just let your stuff sell on its own merits and give what you can.
